neurodiversity story work (and wellbeing)

Adults, Children and young people

Making sense of how neurodiversity (and / or trauma) might have impacted early development, current social and emotional challenges, and support to build a stronger sense-of-self, emotional regulation and communication skills.

Developing a positive sense-of-self, even when we feel overwhelmed or limited by our own or other's perceptions, is at the heart of this Neurodiversity Story Work.

Our holistic, mental-health focused service helps children and young people, adults (especially those with 'late diagnoses') and couples with the complexity of neurodiversity. They may experience more anxiety and fears, helplessness and hopelessness, shame and anger - all of which are invisible to others. Some internal (or unseen) brain activity can deplete an individual's resources and resilience, and can lead to patterns of behaviour that the person might not understand or be able to explain to others - putting a strain on them and their relationships.

We offer Assessments for ASD, ADD, ADHD - or we can work with the assessments from prior support (NHS / Private). We help to make sense of sensory processing difficulties and how these may have impacted on early and current relationships and impulses. We help individuals to build a congruent narrative that will help them to navigate difficult situations, and resolve past traumatised developmental stages.

Life can be so tricky... but with more personally relevant insight and an ability to communicate competence and areas of challenge, life can be less stressful and less lonely.

We work with couples and families, to support long-lasting positive changes.

Misdiagnosis... There are numerous over-lapping thought processes and behaviours, which might be diagnosed as ASD / ADD / ADHD / Complex-PTSD and Personality Disorders. The process of Therapy can help to understand how your brain works best, and how sometimes those labels are helpful, as well as not so helpful.

Embodied, social-emotional exploration in therapy can help to resolve early trauma, releasing the brain and mind from life-limiting patterns of self-protection. Which can reduce more extreme patterns of behaviour and promote more flexibility and resilience.
